The club conducts monthly and year-end competitions on the Visual Pursuits – Charter Oak Photographic Society Competition Website, which is separate and distinct from this website. MONTHLY COMPETITIONS
Before each monthly competition, members have a two week period to submit images to the Competition Website. Images should be submitted into the usual competition types (Open, Wildlife, Monochrome, Specified Topics, Creative, etc), and at the usual levels (Salon, Masters). Instructions and a video about how to submit images to the monthly competitions can be found by using the menu above to select COMPETITIONS > SUBMITTING IMAGES > scroll down to ‘How To Submit Images To Monthly Competitions’.
After the submission period, but before the competition meeting, each image will be scored and critiqued by the COPS AI judging process. At the virtual competition meeting, the Competition Chair will use the Competition Website to present the images, their scores, some critiques, and the awards for First Place and Honorable Mention. After the competition meeting, competition results reports (containing image thumbnails, scores and full critiques) will be emailed to the membership. Ribbons will be distributed to First Place and Honorable Mention winners.
THE YEAR END (YE) COMPETITION
Before the Year-End Competition, members will have a one week period to submit images to the Competition Website. Images should be submitted into the usual competition types (YE Open, YE Wildlife, YE Monochrome, etc). Instructions about how to submit images to the Year-End Competition can be found by using the menu above to select COMPETITIONS > SUBMITTING IMAGES > scroll down to ‘How To Submit Images To The Year-End Competition’.
After the submission period, but before the YE competition meeting, judges will use the Competition Website to view the images and assign preliminary scores. During the YE competition meeting, which is closed to members, judges will use the Competition Website to finalize scores and pick a single winning image for each YE competition type. The Competition Chair will use the Competition Website to assign awards to each winner. YE Competition awards will be announced at a subsequent club meeting.
